Take 5 minutes out at the start of the day
List down the critical tasks you need to accomplish today
Figure out the most important task you need to finish
Ensure you finish it today
[Keep the rest of the tasks handy, it might contain the ‘must finish’ task tomorrow]

Thanks Andrew- I am not really a WoW expert, SL perhaps…but metaverses, in general, fascinate me. 2016-2020 I think we will see real mass adoption.
Productivity Tip(s)…..
1) Delegate as much as I can.
2) Mail Box too full Hit CTRL-ALT-DEL- if important they will get back.
3) Numerous phone numbers- I usually answer only one phone. (Brian Clark weasel tactic)
4) Found making lists on PAPER serves me better…Don’t know why.
5) Turn off interruptive technologies when I can. IM, Skype (Wporter- feel free to contact me about Singapore Andrew…)
6) I fail to pass on memes, although I enjoy studying meme properties e.g. fecundity, velocity, replication, etc
But since Loren Feldman will be all over me…e.g. “Meme Slayer of Fun”. (Hi Loren- hope you are well)…I’ll tag…

It’s a pleasure to tag you with a meme at last!
I’ve this ‘Wayne Porter deconstructs Twitter’ draft post for a while and haven’t had the chance to publish it yet…
But I definitely dig your Daft Punk vibe…
And I’ll be doubly impressed if you’re a Orbital fan too (it was my nick in too many IRC chans/MUDs/RTS/FPS online games than I’d care to admit to).
If you were into DikuMUDs, I bet we could have a very interesting conversation sometime…I was an Imp/area creator on more than a few sites…
Re: online metaverses (geeze, it sounds like circa 1980’s DC Comics speak…). We’ll see, esp if the pioneer cyborgs at MIT persuade the rest of us to implant RFIDs into our brains (or Oakley launches their Neural Net Mercury Razorblades…before you read too much into that, I’m more a Phillip K Dick fan than a William Gibson/Bruce Sterling follower)
Does Zork count? I only had a 300 baud acoustic modem back them…even with ANSI off- it was tough in early 80’s…I MOO’d and MUDDED around, mostly BBS Door Games thought. I was a traditional AD&Der. Phillip Dick, Wiliam Gibson, Neil Stephenson…all good in their own right. I actually love vintage science fiction (Asimov, Zelazny, Simak, Ellison, Robinson, etc) and historical fiction (post up coming on Greece) as well as Steam Punk- New Weird.

Old MUD fans eh? Oh man, that brings me back. I’m feeling a pang in my heart for the MUD I used to run…
Ben- Moos, Muds, wow- talking to Dan Grey the other day about the palace and Steve Rosenbaum about lambdaMOO– did anyone play Solar Realms Elite? Anyone have a copy of that old BBS Game?

After receiving a lot of feedback about my lack of availability, (and a few other jabs around the topic of productivity,) I have much to say on this topic. Here are a few highlights…
1) Read the book: The Power of Full Engagement, Managing Energy, Not Time, Is the Key to HIgh Performance and Personal Renewal by Jim Loehr and Tony Schwartz.
2) Get clarity about what you want from life because, without it, managing priorities is nearly impossible. Even if you have only a few items on the To Do List, you won’t have a sense of accomplishment without clarity.
3) Understand the “value” of time–using whatever metric you want. When you engage in an activity you have to feel you’re getting sufficient value, based on the standard you’ve set.
4) A lap and a nap every day. This is my way of reminding myself to rejuvinate no matter what.
5) Get a “Coach” that helps you stay focused on what matters the most to you. A good coach is someone that experiences success and is willing to keep you performing at your best. If you take yourself seriously–you’ll see the benefit of having someone on the outside looking in. Someone to give you tips, advice and suggestions about how to get the most from life.
Ok…that is all for now. Also, am hiring a Personal Assistant and an Executive Assistant. If you know someone please let me know…Thanks!
