AuctionAds and Buying World of Warcraft Gold
An interesting twist for e-commerce affiliates and auctioneers. ShoeMoneyMedia Group Inc. and MediaWhiz Holdings recently launched AuctionAds, which interfaces through the eBay affiliate program. In short it allows you some of the API or advanced features without the programming pain. They use the familiar “text box” format and apparently compatible with other services like adsense and YPN since they are not “contextual” as I will demonstrate…unless I mixed up the ads. Currently they are focused on “growth” and paying 100% of the rake, and a 6-month 2% bonus. I still find it interesting to window shop on all the goods available to the lonely “shadow consumers” out there- content on power leveling or augmenting their Second Life with Real Life cash… The Economy of Scarcity.
Example Ad:
Another example for World of WarCraft goods…hmmmmmmm, targeting…
They also have keyword linking options…
For example looking for the elusive wii? Ebay has vendors with the Wii In Stock…did you find it?
Or for those needing a shot of Second Life Lindens you can now shop eBay for them, and other Second Life goods- Virtual Lindens. Personally I prefer a vendor I know that will deliver the Lindens without taking a chance on auctions. But to each his own.

[...] AuctionAds and Buying World of Warcraft Gold [...]
It’s amazing to see world of warcraft gold being sold on ebay…It’s clearly against the game’s TOS, and ebay was supposedly cracking down: http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/01/26/2026257&from=rss
Apparently it’s a fulltime job for some people to play the game and get gold, then sell it!
Hey thanks for the post!
Its funny because warcraft sites write us and talk about how auctionads is a great way for them to monetize there site.
Read the book Wayne Porter talked about somewhere here called “Play Money”. Explains it all.
