Amazon Reports: “We sold out of our initial supply of the Wii on Sunday morning, November 19, in less than one minute. We expect to receive periodic shipments of the Wii from Nintendo throughout the holidays and we will post availability updates in this section of the product detail page as well as in the customer discussions below.”
NOW Wii in STOCK after marketing still going strong though.

I think there will always be a shirtage problem with new consoles. I don’t know whether this boils down to the fact that Nintendo cannot make them fast enough, or whether they do them in batches, to prolong the demand. This was the same for the Nissan 350Z car. Nissan limited production to 1,000 units per month which caused a similar effect as the demand for the Nintendo Wii. This was exactly the same for the Wii Fiit, and also games such as Mario Kart.
I predict the Wii will once again become elusive around Christmas time.
