Ohio DMV Clerks- Prepare to Get a Clue
COMING UP…
Ongoing research to come out in one or all of my blog’s- Experience first hand as I ask two Ohio DMV clerks for a privacy policy at the Proctorville Ohio (District 2) office when they want me to hand over ID with social security number, etc. They have no idea what one is, and aren’t very nice about it although they hand me a contact paper after I demand someone to contact. They do confirm I was the first ever to ask for one. Again- we don’t demand enough.
So far I note the online site where I can renew my plates does have one http://www.oplates.com/PrivacyPolicy.asp although while talking to “Christine” on the phone (some other division) she refers me to some obscure code I can look up in the library or it might be on the Internet. I ask Christine for her real name (I was told the conversation might be recorded- I hope I can get that.) for my records. She refuses to give her last name. She refuses to give her last initial. As a matter of fact she infers her name is an alias and not her real name at all. Funny I was kind enough to introduce myself by first and last name and heaven forbid I would need to call her back to verify something. This will take some time, but I can see lots of pot holes ahead…She gets to protect her privacy, but I don’t?
The online world is often held to a higher standard than the offline world. Stay tuned…I have lots of queries to make on this joyride.
