I always love to see native West Virginian success stories. Morgan Spurlock, who did Super Size Me, is on with a new project where he gets thrown in jail on bogus contempt of court charges. Nice…
I found this in the Herald-Dispatch, Huntington WV’s paper of choice: (My chief complaint is they archive and charge for stuff so fast- lame.)RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The West Virginia filmmaker who documented his decline during a steady diet of fast food spent 23 days behind bars and discovered inmates are not all bad guys. Morgan Spurlock, the suffering star of “Super Size Me,” checked into the Henrico County Jail in February, leaving with some shattered stereotypes.“One of them is that you imagine jail, and prison, being filled with all these bad guys,” Spurlock told the Richmond Times-Dispatch. “And I’ll be the first person to say there’s people that are locked up who should be locked up. But at the same time, I think there’s a lot of good, honest, genuine people in there who made a mistake … “ Spurlock’s experience will air July 26 on the FX network to launch the second season of “30 Days.” The six-part documentary series places individuals in environments “antithetical to their upbringing, beliefs, religion or profession,” according to the show.
This guy is great and Super Size Me is a must have…I have hopes for his jail spelunking too. Curse Wordpress’ HTML editing functions and use of style CSS in news stories.
